"4TB WD HDD visible in BIOS but not Disk Management DM .Win7 64bit Home" , I ordered a Western Digital 4TB 3.5-Inch WD Se SATA III 7200 RPM from Amazon and got it yesterday. I plugged the SATA cable in, power cable, then installed it in my case. Powered everything back up and got to Windows (which is installed on my SSD) I got a brief pop up telling me that I need to reboot for the changes to take effect. I assume this is because it was installing the driver for the new HDD. I rebooted by computer and logged into Windows, went to Explorer to see my new HDD, it wasn't there. I tried going to Disk Management, it is not there. Went to Device Manager, and it isn't there either. I went into my BIOS to see if I could see it there and I am able to see it, on port 2, with a capacity of 4000.7. I know the total amount won't be that much when I actually use the drive. I do know it has power cos I can feel the drive spinning. I know that at least my BIOS can see it, but it is no where visible in Windows 7. I have tried updating my BIOS on my mobo, that did not work. I am left to the conclusion that it is a bad drive and I have started a return with Amazon. If anyone could help me out, I would be very grateful! I am wanting this drive to keep my Steam games and video clips on. I have another internal WD 2TB that is recognized and I can access in Windows 7. Here is my motherboard... Gigabyte Black Edition LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboards GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK I cannot find any documentation to indicate that my mobo can or cannot support the internal HDD. I would think it can support it if I can see it in my BIOS at the very least.
